Inaadiziwin

“A Way of Life”

Inaadiziwin provides culturally informed, wrap around independent living programming for youth who have grown up in Child and Family Services (CFS). We help our youth gain the skills and experience required to successfully transition out of CFS into independent living.

Our youth are provided culturally based living environments where relationships and attachments are prioritized and physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs are nurtured.

A Way of Life

Inaadiziwin is a four-stage program based upon medicine wheel philosophies to help guide youth from semi-independence to full independence. Our approach is client-centred, non-judgemental and anti-oppressive. We assess the specific needs of each youth, helping to build individual capacity using a strengths-based perspective rooted in Indigenous knowledge and practices.

Housing

Youth move through the four housing phases of our program, with the goal of being fully independent in their own apartment at the time of discharge. We have three congregate living homes (6-8 beds each), and two apartment blocks (11 suites each). All buildings are staffed 24 hrs/day and are supervised by Inaadiziwin social workers.
